French photographer Robert Doisneau has always been famous for his collection of black & whites, scenery of everyday life and poetic portraits of France in the 50’s….
Until the 1st of June, a Parisian gallery (http://www.claude-bernard.com/index.php) is exhibiting a collection of Doisneau’s less famous work. It’s kitsch, it’s colourful, and it’s elegant. It’s Doisneau commissioned by the luxury magazine FORTUNE to shoot a retirement haven in the middle of the desert, a community gathered around golf, scenes of Palm Spring, USA in the 1960’s.
Less ethereal, more vibrant whilst lightly scathing… I fell instinctively attracted to the following photographs.
This is a Robert Doisneau unveiled, life in colours… a great find!
